She was born Sept. 12, 1911, in Scranton, Pa.
Our mother is survived by 10 children, including her sons, Frank Tunis of Clarks Summit, Pa., Peter Tunis of Bend, Ore., and Robert Tunis of Camarillo; daughters, Roxanne Tunis of Thousand Oaks, Catherine Elrod of Weed, Calif., Doe Tunis of Camarillo, Eleanor Gronenthal of Camarillo, Marie Schandley of Camarillo, Dorothy Smith of Camarillo, and Harriet Tunis of Henderson, Nev.; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was a devout Catholic who, over the years, has sewn more than 40,000 Our Lady of Mount Carmel brown scapulars to be distributed through her daughter's Catholic shop in Camarillo.

My heart is broken and my tears will never stop. Your loving childrenRecitation of the rosary is planned for 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, St. Mary Magdalen Chapel, 2532 E. Ventura Blvd., Camarillo. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, also at St. Mary Magdalen Chapel, with burial to follow at Santa Clara Cemetery, Oxnard.
