Walt's Mom

September 17, 2013

It has been five years since the accident and today is the first time I have thought I could read these entries without crying. I did well. I miss Walt very much. I will always miss him very much. I am thankful to have had the job of being his mom. God blessed me richly and I am grateful. I am thankful for all the beautiful words of sympathy that I have read here and am sorry it took me so long to read them. May God bless all who took the time to express their thoughts and not just for Walt but for all the persons who were killed and injured in such an unnecessary way.

Walt, You were the only reason I even found out where Simi Vly was. Our days at Pepperdine & trips to the ranch & ur constant teasing (even after decades) of my little "accident" at the Ranch are fond fond memories. They virtually shaped me in later life & I thank you for that. I know you are safe with the Lord & watching over your family from above. You are truly missed and always loved -

Jenny, Kelly, Kristi and Casey, I can't express how deeply Walts death has affected me not only because he is no longer with us, but for the huge loss for your family. I had the priviledge of attending the service last Satuday and went in a blubbering mess and came out feeling really good. I will remember Walt always willing to do whatever to make sure the Hollow Hills Variety Show went off with out a hitch ,even the hated set up and break down of CHAIRS!!! I am a better person for having known Walt even in a small way. My heart is with all of you and always will be.

September 23, 2008

I met Walt on the occasion when I asked him if I could take a few photos from the tower at Camarillo airport. (12-9-03) He was very friendly and was happy to oblige my request. Sadly, I didn't realize at the time just how great this guy was. And now all I can say is how very sorry I am for the loss to your family and all those in ATC. Walt is an example for all of us to follow and his memory will continue to inspire so many of us.

Dear Fuller Family,
I am heartbroken over your loss. I was watching tv after the crash and saw my wedding photos and then realized it was Walter. I am so glad I was able to spend the day with Kelly, Ryan, Jenny, Walter and all your friends and family and I hope you can relive his life to some extent through those images. My father-in-law was also in the same car as Walter and suffered severe injuries to both legs and will be hospitalized for about a month. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all those who were involved.

Larry, Ginny,

When I heard that Walter was a casualty I could not believe that he had been called home in such a tragic way, but then again we will never know when we will called home. I know the Garnicas from the old Balcom Canyon Rd. will have fond memories of out two families. I recall the times we spent at the Somis School and Camarillo High events and the times Ginny came over to learn about how tamales were made or the "Spanish Rice" recipes. I didn't know how close we were, Walt and his family in Simi Valley and me and my family in the Antelope Valley. My sincere condolences to your family and Walt's wife and family.

To Jenny, Kelly, Kristi, Casey, Larry, Ginny, Vanessa, Tom, Annette, Mark, Jerry and the entire Fuller family: I have so many memories of Walt during our time at Pepperdine. Singing in the Acappella choir, Heidelberg, church, devotionals--hanging out! One of the best part of meeting Walt was meeting his family. All of you have always been individuals I look up to. You are special in so many ways and Walt loved all of you so much and so well. I know he was a good husband (he adored you, Jenny) father, son, brother, uncle and nephew. He was also a man of honor and integrity, fun-loving, mischevious, caring, kind and lived out his faith. He was a good friend, co-worker and boss. So many wonderful adjectives come to mind-- not many can have such things said about them. I loved it that Walt sang at Chris' memorial service--it meant so much to me. I am so, so sorry that he has been taken so soon--way too soon. My heart is heavy for all of you as you try to make sense of the senselessness of this tragedy. I know where Walt is because his faith was sure. That doesn't make the separation any easier. But I do know that Walt and Chris are together and watching over us all and that gives me comfort. You are a family that is so loved and I know that I and many, many others are here for you and praying for you as you walk this difficult path. Love, Claudia

All we Alls' cherish those memories and memories of Walt.

Dear Jenny, Kelly, Kristi and Casey;
Walt was a wonderful person whose life was cut way too short. We have had the pleasure of knowing all of you since Kelly & Matthew started kindergarten 18 years ago at Hollow Hills. Hollow Hills was not just a school for my children, it created an extended family for us. Walt was an inspiration to me when I needed one. He could always be counted on to help out when asked or needed and even when he was not asked. He always seemed to find a way to help. Walt, like the rest of his family, he had a wonderful smile. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort in the days and weeks ahead. Please let us know if we can do anything to help. Love to all of you.
