Wanda Yates Obituary
Wanda Faye Yates, 67, of Ojai died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, after a battle with cancer.
She was born March 22, 1939, in Poteau, Okla.
Wanda was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She worked many years with charity groups serving the residents of Ojai and Ventura.
If you ever met Wanda you were always welcome in her home or invited to share a friendly conversation. She was a friend to everyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Junnie and Orbie Pridmore; sisters, Brenda Soares, Betty Novian and Shirley Anne Green; and great-niece, Nicole Wilson.
Wanda is survived by her husband of 51 years, Calvin Yates of Ojai; sons, Rick Yates of Ojai and Bill and daughter-in-law Terryl Yates of Ventura; grandchildren, Candace and Ricky Jr. of Modesto, Jesse of Ojai and Sierra and Brittney of Ventura; great-grandchildren, James and Christopher of Modesto; brothers, Don Pridmore of Tennessee and Scott Pridmore of Ventura; and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.
She will be forever missed. Our lives will never be the same without her.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura, with the Rev. Jim Wells officiating. Friends are invited to a reception immediately after the service.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, Ventura.

Aunt Wanda..you will be truly loved and missed by everyone. Such selfishness we have for wishing you were still here and being sad. Everyone has their time and it is an unfortunate thing. I am sure that you are in a better place now, no more suffering and no more pain. You are again reunited with your sisters and parents. One day we will meet again. Until then, I love you and quit cuttin' it up with Grandma Betty! :-)

Aunt Wanda, you will forever be in my heart. I will miss you but I know you are watching over all of us. I know one day I will see you again and that day will be joyful. Please say Hello to my mom, tell her that I miss her and I love her. I love you......always and forever
