DIXIE STAPLETON Obituary

DIXIE ANN STAPLETON Dixie Ann Stapleton, born on a stormy Easter Day, April 10, 1955, in Red Lodge, Montana, passed away surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of Gladys (Warren) Burns, 91 and Howard Hansen, Dixie lived a life rich in love, adventure, and compassion. Dixie is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Steve Stapleton, her high school sweetheart and lifelong partner. Together, they built a family and shared countless memories. She was a proud and loving mother to her two sons, Shane (Angela) Stapleton, and Christopher (Sara) Stapleton. Her numerous grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy and laughter. A dynamic woman, Dixie balanced her role as a nurturing mother with a successful career as an HR manager at Smith's Food. Her passions extended beyond the workplace into the realms of dressage, trail riding, and cowboy mounted shooting with her beloved horses. Her adventurous spirit was further evident in her enthusiastic participation in outdoor activities, always with her family by her side. On meeting new people, she was quick to show her pride for Montana and was fiercely patriotic. Dixie's hobbies reflected her vibrant personality. She had a talent for crafting, creating beautiful seasonal decorations, and tending her garden with love and care. Her garden, a haven for butterflies and hummingbirds, was her sanctuary. An avid reader, Dixie cherished her quiet times engulfed in a good Western novel. Her home was a hub of joy and laughter, especially on 'Sunday Funday', a testament to her commitment to family and fun. Known for her generous and helpful nature, Dixie had a unique gift for connecting people and creating lasting bonds. Her playful spirit made her a favorite among her nephews and all who knew her. While Dixie's community involvement and accomplishments were numerous, her legacy lies in the hearts she touched, the lives she enriched, and the unbreakable bonds she formed with her family and friends. Dixie's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, joy, and kindness. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the memories of those who were fortunate to know her. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 11 am at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.

Dixie was the grandmother of my daughter Lorelai and the adopted grandmother of my daughter Loretta. She loved them equally and was a wonderful person, she will be greatly missed.
