Erma Casey Obituary
Erma Jean Casey
May 8, 1949 – Sept. 13, 2025
Erma Jean Casey was born May 8, 1949, to the late Virgil Tillman and Reola Marin, in Bigelow, Ark.
Erma accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 12 and was baptized under the leadership of Rev. McKinley Lawson and became and active member of Bethel A.M.E. Church.
Erma attended Rosenwald school and graduated from Bigelow High School. Erma joined the workforce upon completing high school and had a very strong work ethic that she passed along to her children. She retired from Amtran Bus company in Conway. She was a volunteer foster grandparent and a volunteer at the library. Erma had a great passion for children and made a lasting impact on the lives of those she touched throughout the years.
Erma loved people and never really met a stranger. The love that she had for her family was amazing. She was fiercer than a lion if she thought that anyone was endangering the safety and well-being of her family. She loved the Lord with her whole heart and soul. She demonstrated that love by the way she embraced her fellowman. She met every challenge with a strong determination to tackle it head on. When her health began to fail, she continued to fight with all her might. In the still quiet early hours of morning on Sept. 13, 2025, Erma answered the call of her Heavenly Father and entered eternal rest.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Reola Tillman; brothers, Prince Barnes and Sammie Tillman; and sisters, Pearline Malcolm, Louise Tillman Davis and Marva Tillman Brown.
She leaves to celebrate and continue her legacy, two sons, Curtis Casey Jr. (Tracey) and Eric Casey Sr. (Livy); one brother, Glenn Tillman; two sisters, Josephine Choate and Cynthia Tillman; five grandchildren, Curtis Casey III, Corey Macon, Tyren Samuels, Erica Bohanan and Eric Casey Jr.; five great-grandchildren, Kaniya, Tyler Jr, Makai, Amari and Carmello; one Godson, Bryson Bridges; and numerous nieces, nephews, close family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
There will be a visitation held from 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, at Roller-McNutt Funeral home in Conway. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, at the Bethel AME Church in Bigelow, with burial to follow at Casey Cemetery.
