Funeral services for Janelle Riggs Matthews, 64, of Sallisaw, were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 21, 2023, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw. Burial followed at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mrs. Matthews was born on Jan. 5, 1959, in Sallisaw to Elizabeth (Hoppis) Riggs and Willie Harmon Riggs. She died on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023, in Sallisaw.
She was married to Walter Dale Matthews on June 11, 1981, in Sallisaw. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1989.
She was the owner and operator of Matthews Daylight Donuts and of the Christian faith.
Survivors are special son, Brent Riggs and Cheresse of Sallisaw; two brothers, Don Riggs and Cheryl and Bobby Riggs and Ronda, all of Sallisaw; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Leon, Randy and Larry Riggs; and two sisters, Beverly Jo Jones and Jerri Mathis.
