Rita Jean Steidley, 88, of Vian, died on Monday, Sept. 18, 2023, in Vian. She was born on July 31, 1935, in Vian to Jack Edgar Stegall and Edna Jewell (Roark) Stegall.
A burial of cremains will be held at a later date at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
She was a homemaker and retired teaching assistant at the Head Start Program in Vian. She was an avid painter and enjoyed making ceramics. She was a long-time member of Vian Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, John and Soon Bennett; one sister, Mary Conrad; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Carl Steidley; and one brother, Joe E. Stegall.
