Roger Ewing Obituary

Roger D. Ewing Jr., age 42, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday Aug. 14, 2016, at his home. He was born March 13, 1974, in Gallipolis Ohio to Roger D. Ewing Sr. (deceased) and Janet (Crabtree) Ewing.
He grew up in Jackson, Ohio, was a graduate of Jackson High School, and was employed at Kenworth Trucking Co. in Chillicothe, Ohio.
Roger was raised with a strong faith in Jesus Christ, loved his family and enjoyed watching sprint car races, camping, fishing, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He enjoyed music, bowling, playing cornhole, watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, and was a Bengals fan. He was a kind, quiet, gentle man who loved those around him and spent most of his time working for his family, and taking care of their needs.
He is survived by his mom Janet Ewing of Jackson, Ohio; children: Kayla (Jarod) Landrum of Jackson, Melissa (Corbin) Neville of Maryland, and Jordan Brewer, Morgan Brewer, Jase Ewing and Aiden Ewing all of Wellston, Ohio; grandchildren: Caleb Landrum and Jaysalyn Landrum; his sisters: Marsha Fox, and Rhonda (Randy) Oliver, and several nieces and nephews.
Roger's wife Mandy Ewing also passed away Aug. 14. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his best friend and dad, Roger D. Ewing Sr. in 2015, his paternal grandparents, James and Doldie Ewing of Wellston, and maternal grandparents, Ora and Eva Crabtree of Jackson.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 18, from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 19, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Russ Strange officiating.
Interment will immediately follow at Fairmount cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillumfuneralhomes.com.
Roger's death will leave a huge void in the lives of everyone who knew and loved him.
His death is a reminder to each of us to express our love more boldly, hug our families a little tighter, and to laugh a lot more with the ones we love. Tomorrow is never promised.
