Hubert S. "Wildman" McCoy

HUBERT S. "WILDMAN" MCCOY, 84 years of age of Maxie, VA, passed away Friday, September 26, 2025 in the Pikeville Hospital due to a lone illness. Born June 8, 1941 in Buchanan County he was the son of the late James G. McCoy and Iona Powers McCoy.
Hubert was saved and was a strong believer of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and took his religious beliefs seriously. He was a disabled coal miner and loved to spend most of his time doing outside work when he was able. He was a very loving man, who loved all of his family and friends dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and several great nephews.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-two years Carleen "Carol" McCoy of Maxie, VA; his son Jody Allen McCoy of Maxie, VA and his fiancé Janie Swiney of Elkorn City, KY; brother, Max "Hezie" McCoy of Maxie, VA; nephews, Brad McCoy of Bristol, VA, Mike McCoy of Abingdon, VA; two special nieces, Angie McCoy Ramey of Richlands, VA and Kathi Leniski of Bristol, VA.
Also survived three special friends he loved dearly, Brandon Puckett, Mikey Puckett and Brad Vandyke.
Him and his son Jody had a very close and loving bond, they spent most of their time together enjoying life. They were more than father and son, they were "best friends".
In honoring his request, he will be cremated and his ashes spread at his special places that he enjoyed going to.
