VIOLET CASSIE STACY, age 88 of the Coon Branch section of Grundy, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, following an extended illness. Born January 6, 1935, at Wolford, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Giles Bandy and Betty Sparks Bandy. She was a homemaker. Violet was a loving caretaker for everyone. She took great pride in taking care of her home and yard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Alda Christian; second husband, Howard Stacy; one daughter, Sandra Stacy; son-in-law, Doug Stacy; brothers and sisters, John Bandy, Juanita Baumgardner, Marie Smith, Tommy Bandy, Jerry Bandy, Ray Bandy, Altha McCoy, Latney Bandy, and Ron Bandy.
Survivors include, Grandson, Kevin Stacy and wife Amy of Maxie, Virginia; Great-Grandchildren, Jack Stacy and fiancé Allie Vanover of Vansant, Virginia, Cadie Stacy and Loni Stacy of Maxie, Virginia; Great-Great-Grandson on the way; Sisters and Brothers, Nancy Blankenship of Grundy, Virginia, Henry Bandy of Hurley, Virginia, Irene Davis of Wolford, Virginia.
Funeral services for Violet Cassie Stacy were held on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Virginia Funeral Home Chapel, Grundy, Virginia, with Charlie Johnson officiating. Burial followed in the Bandy Cemetery, Coon Branch Road, Grundy, Virginia.
The family received friends Thursday evening, 6:00 p.m. at the Virginia Funeral Home. A service was held at 7:00 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers were family and friends.
