Audrey Bridges

Mrs. Audrey Lynn Bridges of Visalia and former resident of Burell passed away surrounded by her loving family in her residence at the age of 68. Mrs. Bridges was born July 7, 1941 in Bearden, Oklahoma to Frank and Norma Chesser. In 1957 she married the love of her life (Roger Bridges) and together settled in Fresno and started their family. Together they owned and operated Bridges Grocery Store and Post Office for many years before moving to Visalia. Audrey was a member of Grace Community Church, Visalia Women's Trade Club. She was an avid gardener and also enjoyed playing softball, and spending time with family and friends. She will be best remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Roger Bridges of Visalia; 2 sons, Keith Bridges of Valencia; Todd Bridges and wife Sheila of Fresno; 4 bothers, Austin Chesser o Meeker, Oklahoma; Hugh Chesser of Coarsegold; Frank Chesser of Visalia; David Chesser of San Diego; 2 sisters, Edith Hampton of Barstow; Brenda Curtis of Visalia; and 4 grandchildren; Brice, Garrett, Alexa and Jacob Bridges. She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Bridges in 1993, a brother, Paul Chesser and a sister, Mary Houk. A graveside service will be held Friday September 11, 2009, 1:00 p.m. at Exeter district Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at Grace Community Church. Visitation will be held Thursday 4-7 p.m. at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
