Jenell D. Mahaffey, a long time resident of Tulare died Monday, July 10, 2017, at home with her family. Born June 11, 1937 in East Texas Jenell moved to Tulare in 1965. She was the owner of Jenell's Better Tax and Bookkeeping for 35 years, until her retirement. Jenell was preceded in death by her parents, Grace Brassfield and Burk G. Miller, and her son Dennis B. Mahaffey.
She is survived by her companion of 30 years, Ralph Chambers, her daughter Shellie Mahaffey- Mossa of Tulare, step sons Bobby Mahaffey of Tulare, Danny Mahaffey of Ransom Canyon, Texas, and Roy Mahaffey and Cliff Mahaffey both of Amarillo, Texas. She is also survived by two step daughters and their spouse, Debbie & Damon Archibald and Karynn & David Rady, all of Visalia, step son Scott Chambers of Los Angeles, and daughter-in-law Sandi Mahaffey of Oildale. Jenell leaves behind seven grandchildren, Daniel Reimer, of Idaho, Amber Mahaffey of Oildale, Manny Mossa, Karmen Mossa, and Taylor Mossa, all of Calaveras County, Craig Mossa of Nevada, and Desirie Story of Lemon Cove.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2017, 3-7 p.m. at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home, 151 North "H" Street, Tulare. Chapel Service will be held on Monday, July 24, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donation can be mail to Alzheimer's Foundation of Ca, 4411 N. Cedar Ave. #102, Fresno, Ca. 93726. Arrangements are entrusted to Miller's Tulare Funeral Home

I WORKED FOR JENELL MANY YEARS. MOST OF THE FAMILY IS LIKE MY OWN FAMILY. SHE TREATED ME LIKE HER DAUGHTER AND HELPED ME WHEN I NEEDED IT. SHE HIRED A DUMP KID FROM IVANHOE AND GAVE ME A CHANCE. I love you so much grandma and I miss you and I am glad I get to spend this one last birthday with you though at least I hope I do. I don't see things turning out the way we always plan for it to Grandma. But at least the Lord was grateful enough to let me celebrate your life on the same day he gave me mine. I'll do my best to make you proud grandma.
