Lena Bray Obituary

Lena Bray was born August 17th, 1925 to Ernest and Hazel Teasley in the small coal mining community of Dorchester, Virginia. She was a brazing red-haired beauty with huge blue eyes (definitely a southern belle.) At age 21 she married her romeo, Elbert Bolling. They were blessed with four children, Dianna, Suzanna, Jeffery and Sam. As a family, they made their homes in West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Florida and in 1959 moved to Porterville, Ca. where Lena fell in love with the people of this small community. She knew Porterville would become home for the rest of her earthly life. She was a proud and loyal member of the Church of the Nazarene. She loved the Lord with all her heart and put him first each day of her life. She never met a stranger and would greet everyone with a smile and a southern "Hi---" She received her greatest gift on Christmas morning when she awoke in Heaven. "Just Imagine!" To greet her in Heaven were her parents, her beautiful daughter Dianna, her brother Buddy, husbands Elbert Bolling and Robert Bray and her great granddaughter, Macy. What a Christmas celebration! Lena leaves behind her daughter Suzanna Stanley and her husband Damon of Tulare, Ca., sons Jeffery Bolling and Sam Bolling of Porterville, seven grandchildren: Todd, Michael, Tammy, Wendi, Priscilla, Summer and Casey, sixteen great grandchildren, her brother Glen (Marilyn) Teasley of Norton, Va., sister Christi Huneycutt of Reno, Nevada, many nieces and nephews and at least one million friends. She touched each of their lives with her beautiful spirit and love. Visitation will be Wednesday December, 30th 2:00-7:00pm at Myers Funeral Home, Porterville Ca. Memorial Service will be Thursday December, 31st at 11:00am at Church of the Nazarene in Porterville. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. As I struggled through my tears, writing mom's obituary, I noticed a CD mom had on her kitchen counter. The title was, "I'll be Home for Christmas." Merry Christmas Mom!
