Mabel Cardoza Curti Mabel Cardoza Curti was born March 26, 1920 in Waukena, California to Manuel Pacheco Cardoza and Maria Simoes Cardoza. She passed away on February 11, 2015 at the age of 94 in her home in Tulare. Mabel graduated from Waukena Union Elementary School in May 1933, Tulare Union High School in June 1937, Visalia Junior College (COS) in May 1940, and Fresno State College in June 1942. At Fresno State she majored in languages and later also received her lifelong teaching credential. Mabel also worked at banks in Corcoran, CA and San Antonio, Texas as a translator during the war. She married Italo Miro Curti on Thanksgiving day November 28, 1946. Mabel is survived by her daughter Karen Curti Pedroncelli and husband Ron, son Kenneth Curti and wife Shurene of Visalia and her daughter in law Brenda Curti of Fresno. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren Clint Curti and wife Amy of Hanford, Aaron Curti and wife Jaimi of Idaho, Nicole Pedroncelli Taylor and husband Brian, Shaun Pedroncelli and wife Sylvia of Visalia, Amanda Curti Warren and husband Scott of Tulare, Jacqueline Curti of Fresno, and Christina Curti of Long Beach. She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren Tristyn Trahey , Caitlin Curti, Caleb Curti, Gracie Curti, and Sebastian Pedroncelli. Two sister-in-laws Lilia Giacomazzi of Hanford and Alice Cardoza of Bakersfield. She is preceded in death by her parents Manuel Pacheco Cardoza and Maria Simoes Cardoza, husband Italo Miro Curti, sons Jeffrey Curti and Gregory Curti, brothers Manuel Cardoza and Willy Cardoza, and sisters Mary Cardoza and Alice D. Cardoza. She was a member of the Roma Lodge, St. Aloysius Altar Society, St. Aloysius Catholic Church, and St. Rita's Catholic Church of Tulare. Mabel was a very smart, strong willed, determined lady. Her family was always her top priority. She was always very kind and considerate of others and always put everyone else's needs before her own. She was known for her beautiful smile and caring nature. Proof of her strength and independence was evident by her taking care of herself and living independently after suffering a stroke in 1992. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home, 151 North "H" Street, Tulare, Ca. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2015, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home, 151 North "H" Street, Tulare, Ca. St. Aloysius Altar Society Rosary will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2015, 4:00 p.m. at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home. Recitation of the Rosary and Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Monday, February 23, 2015, 10:30 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 125 East Pleasant Ave., Tulare, Ca. with burial at Tulare District Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Miller's Tulare Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kaweah Delta Hospice, 900 West Oak Street, Visalia, CA 93291 or a
charity of the donor's choice. The family would like to thank her kind and considerate caregivers Silvia Candeias Filipe, Amanda Fairchild, Brook Fairchild, Sonia Mendes, Shawna Rush, and Vonnie Fernandez. We are most grateful for Silvia Candeias Filipe and her husband Rui Filipe, not only for caring for Mabel, but also for loving her as a part of her family. Also, Hospice and Dr. Anca Petrascu for all of their medical help and advice. Due to all the great care she received the last seven months, Mabel's wishes were fulfilled by being able to stay at her home until God called her to Heaven.
