Michael Lee Triplett

Michael Lee Triplett Michael Lee (Mick) Triplett passed away in Visalia, California, on November 9, 2012, at the age of 75, surrounded by his wife and children. Mick was born February 25, 1937 to Blyth and Laura Triplett in Whittier, California. Mick was a long-time resident of Visalia, where his practice as a Licensed Architect in the State of California extended throughout the California Central Valley. Mick grew up in the Delano area. Following graduation from Delano High School Mick joined the United States Army where he served honorably in the 73rd Armor Regiment of the famous 82nd Airborne Division. It was during this time Mick chose a future professional career in the field of architecture. Upon discharge Mick began a lengthy study and apprenticeship in architecture, following which he gained credentials as a Licensed Architect in the State of California. Mick was a member of the American Institute of Architects and served on the National MasterSpec program in Washington D.C., a national master guide building and construction specification system. He was also a member of the Construction Specifications Institute and the Visalia County Center Rotary. Mick worked on hundreds of public projects that will continue to serve Central Valley communities and improve life for everyone. His public projects include the Kaweah Delta Hospital; Kaweah Delta Hospital's Cogeneration & Central Plant facility; The Kaweah Delta Hospital's west wing; City of Visalia fire department stations No. 1, 2, & 4; City of Rio Vista fire department station No. 56; City of Kingsburg Police facility building renovation; City of Kingsburg main fire station renovation; City of Kingsburg Westside fire substation; Selma-Kingsburg-Fowler water district administration building; City of Lemoore Police facility building; Tulare County office of Education; Tulare Transit Center; Tulare City Hall; Madera Unified School District's new Junior High School. Private projects include the beautiful Willow Plaza in Visalia and Mick's final project was a new twenty-two thousand square foot operations center for son Kevin Triplett's company, Softcom Internet Communications, Inc., located in Galt, California. Mick married his sweetheart, Dianna on February 1st 1997. Together Mick and Dianna enjoyed three children and six grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing with his grandchildren, working on miscellaneous home improvement projects. His favorite hobby was flying airplanes. Mick is survived by wife Dianna Triplett, son Kevin Triplett with wife Shannon Triplett, daughter Debbie Murphy, and daughter Melissa with husband Paul Flores; grandchildren Bryce Triplett, Blake Triplett, Michael Murphy, Macaela Murphy, Taylor Flores, Blake Flores and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life for Mick Triplett will be held on Saturday November 17, 2012 at 1:00pm at the Miller Memorial Chapel, Visalia California.
