Mike Torres Rodriguez Mike passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. He was born in Tulare, CA on August 18, 1954 to Carlos and Rachel Rodriguez. Mike met the love of his life, Rachel, in the eighth grade. They were married on February 3, 1973. His family was very dear to him. He leaves behind his wife, two daughters: Monique Mello (Husband Joe) and Serina Rodriguez; three grandchildren: Mishael Montemayor, Alexandria and Joseph Mello. Mike was a devoted and loving Husband, Father, and Papa to his grandchildren. He is leaving a void in the hearts of his family. Mike retired in 2011 after 32 years as the Senior Public Works Inspector for the City of Tulare. He gained the respect of his co-workers and contractors that he worked with for his knowledge and expertise in the field of Public Works. After his retirement, Mike worked two years with Quad Knopf Engineering where he had the opportunity to work alongside his daughter, Monique. Mike will best be remembered as the awesome lead guitarist for the band AUGUST as music was his passion. Mike was respected and loved by all who knew him. He was very compassionate and had a soft heart for others. Mike's favorite past-times included travelling to Pismo Beach with his family, baseball, golf and of course the love of music. Mike made many friends through these activities, during his career as a Public Works Inspector, and as a musician. He excelled in everything he did. There will never be another Mike T. Rodriguez. We love you so much and will miss you FOREVER! Viewing will be held Sunday, March 8, 2015 at 9:00 am, with the Rosary following at 10:30 am at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel. A Mass will be held on Monday, March 9th, at 10:00 am at Saint Rita's Catholic Church. Graveside Services will be held on March 16th, at 11:00 am at North Tulare Cemetery.
