Opal Williams Obituary

Opal K. Williams, passed away December 7, 2010 at the age of 88. She was born August 1, 1922 in Celina, Texas. She was a resident of Waukena for 28 years and then moved to Pixley, where she lived for 21 years. In Waukena, she attended Brethren In Christ Church and in Pixley, she attended the Assembly of God Church. In 2001, Opal moved to Tulare and she attended Wayside Church of the Nazarene. She worked in the cafeteria at Pixley Elementary School for 15 years. She was a seamstress and excellent cook and was the "Perfect Little Grandma". She loved her pets and playing the piano or any keyboard by ear. The family wishes to thank the staff of Merritt Manor for their excellent care of Opal. Her survivors include two sons, Jack Williams and Melvin Williams, and two daughters, Gloria Hawley and Victoria Hampton, all of Tulare, 23 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Opal was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Williams; a son, Lee Roy Williams; a daughter, Carol Qualls; four sisters and three brothers. Visitation will be 12-8 p.m., Monday, December 13, 2010 at Peers Lorentzen Funeral Chapel. Services will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Wayside Church of the Nazarene, 1929 E. Bardsley, Tulare. Burial will follow at Tipton-Pixley Cemetery.
