Renae Mackey Obituary

Renae Annett Mackey

January 28, 1960 - March 05, 2017

Visalia

Renae Annett Mackey was born on January 28, 1960 to Cecil & Judyth Forcum and passed away on March 5, 2017 in Visalia, California. Renae was born in Visalia and went to Washington Elementary, Divisadero Middle School and later graduated from Mt. Whitney High School. She married the love of her life, Joe Mackey on June 9, 1979 and together they went on to have two children, Joey & Ciara.

Renae Forcum Mackey (as she signed all of her professional business documents,) was the president of Forcum/Mackey Construction for over 32 years. She began her career in the Construction industry at the early age of 16, with a job acquired through high school work experience. She began her career working with her family's construction company, (CW Forcum Construction,) and in 1985 Renae and Joe formed Forcum/Mackey Construction, currently being led by the 4th generation in the same location Renae began her career.

Renae was known by those whom knew her best, for her passion and desire to create and decorate (or re-decorate) everything. Whether it was a home, a party or one of her children's weddings, Renae had the magic eye to make it look great. One of her personal favorites, the Tulare Kings County Builders Exchange "Ladies Night Dinner Dance," was always a project she prepared and planned for throughout the year. Whether it was inspired by a recent vacation Joe and Renae had taken, a new movie or a favorite movie from one of her children/grandchildren, her vision and execution of the theme was always marveled at upon completion. She truly loved it.

Renae & Joe worked hard so that they could enjoy time away with their friends and family. Whether it was spending time at the family cabin in Shaver Lake, renting a house boat on Lake Shasta with family or relaxing at the coast in San Simeon, she loved making memories with her family and friends. These memories that will last a lifetime are what will continue to comfort her close family and friends.

Known as "Nae Nae" to Colton, Ella, Tinsley, Cate & Ava… Renae relished the role of being grandma to the 5 cutest kids she had ever seen. Whether it was taking each little girl to get their ears pierced or buying them their first real tea set; taking them on motorhome trips up the coast or helping teach them to ride their bike without training wheels…. Renae loved spending time with her "crazies" and will forever be missed by them.

Everyone remembers Renae for the many different qualities she possessed throughout her life, whether it be her quick fingers punching the calculator on bid day or the amazing wife, mother and grandmother to her beloved family.

Renae is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Joe Mackey; her children Joey Mackey & Ciara (Scott) Chase; grandchildren, Colton & Tinsley Mackey, Ella, Cate & Ava Chase; her father & step-mother, Cecil & Barbara Forcum; her sister Sherri (Chuck) Smith; her brother, Ronnie (Tonya) Osborne and numerous nieces and nephews. She will forever be grateful for her lifetime friendship with Mike & Vickie Torres. She was preceded in death by her mother Judyth Osborne and daughter-in-law, Cat Mackey.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 10, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Visalia First Assembly Church. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hadley- Marcom Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The ALS Association- Golden West Chapter, P.O. Box 565 Agoura Hills, California 91376 in memory of her mom Judy Osborne.

I just went to the Forcum-Mackey website and found out about Renae’s passing and am so sorry to hear. I worked for her and Joe for several years before moving to Kansas in ‘93. She was such a beautiful and generous lady - she made it so easy to want to do your best work. It’s been several years, but her passing was such a shock to me. May God’s peace and comfort be with the family and may she Rest In Peace in His arms. ❤

So sorry for your loss. She was so young. Please accept comfort from this verse. Ec 9:11. I have seen something further under the sun, that the swift do not always win the race, nor do the mighty win the battle, nor do the wise always have the food, nor do the intelligent always have the riches, nor do those with knowledge always have success, because time and unexpected events overtake them all.

I met Renae thru Cat when she married Joey. She was beautiful, sweet and funny. I'll never forget when she danced with Joey at his wedding to Andrea Bocheli. Magical. Just heard that song yesterday and brought me back to that day. My heart is heavy with sadness. May God bring strength and understanding to her family. You will be greatly missed Renae. Much too young to say goodbye.
