Richard Craig Simpson Richard Craig Simpson - On January 9, 1964, Rick was born to William and Rosalie Simpson in Castro Valley, CA. On April 9, 2012, he was taken from this life on earth to a life with his Savior. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. A generous and giving man, if he had something and you wanted or needed, he gave it to you, no questions asked. He was a loving son to his mom, Rosalie Simpson of Carson City, NV, and his dad, William Simpson of Blaine, WA, a loving brother to his siblings, William (Lori) Simpson of Las Vegas, NV, Candice (Don) Stangle of Rancho Cordova, CA, and Kenneth (Launa) of Belvedere, CA, a loving uncle to Rosalyn Gingrich, Minden, NV, Markus (Jeannette) Zinke, Gardnerville, NV, Keriann (Mark Ortiz) of Carson City, NV, Brenton Simpson of San Francisco, CA, Morgan Simpson of Carson City, NV, Reanna Merstik and William G. Simpson of Las Vegas, NV, a great uncle to Dennis and Hannah Gingrich, Giana and Lily Zinke, Kadence and James Ortiz, a caring nephew of Evan (Sharon) Thompson of CC, NV, Norman (Patti) McGaffey of Sebastopol, CA, Charles Walker of Ukiah, CA, honorary aunt and uncle, Virginia (John) Miller of Visalia, CA and Marvin (Denise) Thompson of McMinnville, OR, and many cousins. Rick was a 1982 graduate of Douglas High School. One highlight of his high school career was kicking a field goal to help beat Reno High for the first time in Douglas football history. He also spent time in the Air Force. He liked fishing, both freshwater and deep sea, catching everything from a 1 pound trout and 23 lb. dorado to a "2million lb." sunfish off of the Santa Cruz pier. He also enjoyed walking the beaches of California, gambling, and especially music. He could name most songs and artists after hearing only one or two notes. He took many of his music industry friends to their gigs from Visalia to local spots as well and Los Angeles and San Francisco. He enjoyed the camaraderie, atmosphere and music. His family will remember the tales of his "RQs" Rick Questions, such as asking his dad at the dinner table one night if he could "cut his car in half", meaning to lower it. His vocation was as a salesman, his avocation was as a comedian. With a great sense of humor, he entertained his friends and family many times and as "Rikki" bodyguard on Chelsea Handler's "The Chelsea Lately Show", he entertained millions. Look for Chelsea Lately: Bodyguard Blues, Wax On, Security Guard Challenge, Catch a Little Person Predator, Model Mayhem, Family Therapy, Chelsea Lately - Rabbi Shmuley, He did several more, one on choosing a personal chef, one on going with Chuy to Kate Sommerville's spa and arguing with Lisa Rinna, and one on choosing a personal chef, but they are not on YouTube. Rick never uttered an unkind word about anyone. He was truly a gentleman and a "gentle giant". Private services were held in Carson City, NV. Interment at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
