Sally Anderson Obituary

Sally Francis Anderson

July 25, 1946 - July 13, 2015

Visalia

Sally Francis was born on July 25, 1946 in Greenfield, Missouri to Dwight and Lois Dresdall. After the death of her father, Sally moved to Tulare with her mother, Lois and sister Susie. It was there where Lois met and married Cecil Smith and together they had Sally's baby brother, Robert Smith.

Sally attended Wilson Elementary School and then Cherry Avenue Middle School. She later attended, Tulare Union High School, where she was very active in many clubs, being Argus Queen and making lifelong friends. During those fun years she met, the love of her life, Craig Anderson, and they married on July 10, 1964. Together they welcomed their son, Richard Craig and daughter Amie Sue.

The farm life suited her well. Sally enjoyed being a farmers wife, a happy homemaker and took her greatest pleasure in raising her children. She took great pride in the Anderson family farming business and enjoyed making countless memories with Craig's family, Dick, Lesta, Bob and Bonnie Anderson on the family ranch. She never missed a class party, baseball game or a chance to support her family. The Waukena elementary school years, with her children, were some of her most delightful times. Sally had many gifts and enjoyed sharing them with others. She enjoyed volunteering and cooking for the Tulare Methodist Church. She spent several years involved with the Tulare County and Napa County fairs. She loved catering and making loving meals for her family and friends. She graciously prepared many meals for her grandkids sporting events, fundraisers and school activities. Sally also loved working in floral design and event planning with her dear friends. One of Sally's greatest pastimes was vacationing with her entire family at Cayucos Beach. Even in her last days she refused to let herself miss a single Fourth of July parade and seeing her family dressed in her favorite, red, white and blue.

Craig and Sally were married for 34 years until Craig passed away. Sally continued to do what she truly adored, helping others and making her family feel loved. Sally's family and heart quickly grew with her becoming a very proud, grandmother, whom all will remember as "Granny." Sally's son Richard and his wife Jody, have four children, Victoria, Dallas, Cassidy and Gray. Daughter, Amie and husband Rob have two sons, Mitchell and Sam. But, her family did not stop there because, Granny was "Granny" to all who knew her. Granny's joy of cooking was enjoyed by many. A full tummy and a happy heart brought her tremendous joy. Everything Sally touched was beautiful and she left everyone's heart a little sweeter. Even though her life ended abruptly on July 13, her love, passion and faith in God that she instilled in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will continue to live on forever.

Sally is survived by her sister, Susie Kay Smith, brother, Robert and his wife Kathy, their children, Karly, Susanna and Kenan Smith. Sally's son, Richard, his wife Jody, their children, Dallas, Cassidy, Gray, Victoria and her husband Joel Robertson their children, Sally's great-grandchildren, Jax and Amelia Robertson. Sally's Daughter, Amie and her husband Rob Silvas and grandsons Mitchell and Sam Silvas.

Celebration of Life, Tulare United Methodist Church on Thursday July 16 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Sally's memory to the Tulare United Methodist Church and Tulare County Fair Foundation. Funeral Arrangements by Peers Lorentzen Funeral Service, Tulare.

Being fortunate to still be alive, I often think what Sally is missing. She did a great job raising Richard and Amie as is evident in their families, she would be ecstatic to see them today, just has a different view.
Miss and love you my friend.

I'm so sorry to hear of Sally's passing. We have been out of town. Sally and I go back to Top Hatters and Cherry Ave School. Even though our lives went in different directions after high school we were always happy to run into each other. Im so lucky to have sat and had a long visit with Sally at our class reunion last year. She will be missed by so many and when we all think of her we will smile because Sally always had that effect all of us. My heart-felt condolences to her family

Oh, Robert, my heart is breaking for the entire family ... my mom and Helen were at the service, but Helen had to leave... so they didn't make the reception. Mom said you did a beautiful job, and that the pastor told of a wonderful example of Sally's welcoming and caring heart.... sent cards to you through the funeral home... she had a smile that would light up the room, didn't she?

My mother Frances Watry and Sally were very good friends. Every year at Fair time, Mom would come in with all of her exhibits and she and Sally would have a great time. Sally always had a warm smile and personality. She will be greatly missed and the Watry Family sends their deepest sympathy to her family. Unfortunately, distance and meetings will preclude our personal presence at her services and we deeply regret that. She will live on in our memories -- her smile is eternal.

Sally and I go way back to just a few months after she and Craig married, my husband and I built a house across the street and moved in in October of 64 right after the birth of my last child.
Sally and I had many cups of coffee, laughs and conversations about our spouses, life and our children. Watched as she had Richard and Amie and our children played together.
I eventually moved to Visalia and our busy lives came between us.
Once our grandchildren began swimming we would meet again and visit about old times and the memories we shared.
Great, classy lady.
My heart is heavy, love to Richard, Amie and their families.
Love you all, Diane Lancaster King

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. Sally was such a Kind and Happy Person. We will always think fondly of her and her patience and the enthusiasm that she showed to our sister-in-law Bernadette when she started entering items in the fair. She made it a point to make her feel like she had really accomplished something big and how Proud Sally was of her. She is especially missed by Bernie and by all of us.
