Tulare
Sandra Beth Eckert "Sandy" 71, of Tulare, CA returned to her Lord and Savior on July 25th, 2015. Sandy was born on July 4th, 1944 in Salinas, CA to John and Alice West and Sharon Greer. Sandy was a generous big-hearted person and always greeted everyone with open arms. Sandy was a devoted and dedicated healthcare worker for over 40 years. Her commitment and compassion started when she became an LVN and worked at Merritt Manor in Tulare for 25 years. She became a RN during this time graduating Regents College Nursing School in 2003. Her dedication continued as she moved to Smith Care of Porterville as Director of Nurses. As an advocate for nursing she ended her career as an educator at the Milan Institute in Visalia where she taught CNA courses so that new healthcare workers could continue her legacy as caring and giving nurses. She loved to go yard sales and spend time with her grandsons and great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Peggye Podelsak, Jr, and her brother John Podelsak. She will be most missed by her daughter, Stacy Eckert and family friend Paul Zorn, son Rick Eckert and wife, Julie. Their Nener will be missed by her grandsons, Joshua Eckert, Chase Eckert, and Justin Zorn and known as Meme to her great-granddaughter, Allison Eckert. A graveside service will be held on August 7th, 2015 at 2:00pm at Tulare District Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Miller's Tulare Funeral Home.

Sorry to hear about the news.. Miss Sandy was an amazing person very cheerful happy a good teacher she smiled all the time and made everyone laugh she will be missed by me and everyone else that enjoyed this wonderful lady RIP Miss Sandy ...never goodbye I'll see u later

Ms. Sandy, you were a wonderful teacher and I always remember everything you taught me. Thank you so much for being such a caring perso and teacher and passing that on to us so we can do the same . May you RIP and I will always remember you
