Trini Castanon Obituary

Trini Salgado Castanon

Sept. 18, 1961 - Oct. 06, 2016

Fresno

Trini was born Trinidad Andrea Salgado on September 18, 1961 in Huntington Park, Ca. to the late Ernest Salgado and Margaret Salgado. For two years she battled lung cancer, but for two years she smiled, laughed, and lived life as she always had. She was called to her heavenly home on October 6, 2016.

Trini spent most of her childhood in Farmersville, Ca. She graduated from Exeter High School in 1980. She went to Fresno State majoring in education to pursue her dreams of being a teacher. She graduated in 1986. She worked for Fresno Unified for over 28 years. She worked at Fresno High School and McLane High School.

While living in Fresno, Trini met Frank Castanon. They married on March 5, 1988. They soon started their family with sons Stephen and Isaac and daughter Rebekah.

Faith in their Lord and Savior was a focal point in the Castanon family. They were members of Lifepointe Worship Center.

Trini had a fun loving spirit. Her warm and caring personality caused others to feel valued and wanted to be near her. Trini was a friend to one and all, but her two best friends were her sister Edith and her daughter Rebekah. Time spent together, was time cherished. Trini started a journal when she was diagnosed with lung cancer. She wrote, "I have faith the size of a mustard seed. I walk by faith, not by sight. I trust in the Lord with all my heart". She would often burst out in song, singing one of her favorite hymns in Spanish and English.

Trini was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Salgado. She leaves behind her mother Margaret, her husband Frank, her son Stephen and daughter-in-law Angelica, son Isaac, and daughter Rebekah. She also leaves behind three brothers and one sister: Leonard Salgado, Larry Salgado, Fred Salgado, and Edith Stover (Rusty). She also leaves behind many friends, relatives, and her church family. Trini will be missed very much.

Services will be on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 10:30AM in Fresno at Lifepointe Worship Center, 3159 W McKinley. Burial will be at the Visalia District Cemetery in Visalia at 1:00PM.

Words can't describe my sadness when I heard my friend since childhood had gone to heaven. I have many fond memories of sleepovers, sharing dreams as girls do, you standing next to me as my maid of honor at my wedding. I know I will see you again some day my beautiful friend.

Today was a day of sadness , crying and remembrance .
Today was a day rejoicing , triumph and victory , Trini , showed us all, on how to pick up our cross, and finish the race.
Her love for Christ , was showed through her husband, and children ,and that in it self is a testimony of her life .
Trini finished her race ,and ran in her "new" heavenly body , into our "Heavenly Father "
arms .
Trini ,would want us to pick up our cross, and finish the race , on what time we have left on this world . Her smile , and love will always be in my heart . Much Love A brother in Christ

My deepest sympathies to the Salgado family, so sorry for your loss.

Julie and I were blessed to have known Trini. Trini was a loving and caring mother and wife and a good friend. Look at that contagious smile. Even in her darkest hour, Trini was thinking of others. We will all miss this wonderful lady. May our Lord and Savior comfort Frank and the family.

My prayers of love and comfort go to Trini's family. Trini had a smile that would light up a room. I will always remember her sweet smile and her kindness she shared with all who knew her. I am so blessed to have been in contact with her recently. Her last conversation with me, she shared the love for her children. We laughed, reminisced and cried together. I know I will see her again someday. I love and miss you already my friend.
