Vicki Anderson Obituary

Vicki Ley Anderson

May 24, 2015

Tulare

Vicki Ley Anderson passed away unexpectedly on May 24, 2015.

She was a life-long Tularean and very proud of her family's history in Tulare. She attended Roosevelt, Mulcahy and graduated from Tulare Western as Valedictorian in 1975. She enjoyed various activities while in High School, such as Girls League and playing first chair trumpet in the marching band and was ultimately awarded a scholarship to the University of Southern California.

Vicki met the love of her life while attending the first combined high school graduation dance, spending the next 40 years with him. Vicki is survived by her loving husband, Monty Anderson, children Janelle Fontaine and husband Danny Fontaine, Patrick Anderson and wife Cory Anderson, her grandchildren, EmmaLey Chapman and Arabella Fontaine. Her brother Kenneth Ward and wife Faith Ward. Her nephews Brandon Ward and Kenneth Gary Ward, and niece Candida Ward. She was predeceased by her parents, Gary and Edna Ward.

Vicki spent her life taking care of others. Vicki loved being able to support her children and husband in their endeavors and activities and took great pride in their achievements. She was always involved in Little League as score keeper and head score keeper.Vicki worked with the Friday night live program for Kindergarten and first grade students. Vicki was a Girl Scout Troop Leader, Room Mother, Camp Counselor at Camp Sunshine Dreams for Valley Children's Hospital and Band Booster for both her children. She instilled the very best of what it meant to be a family in her children. She loved sharing the family history with her children by telling stories and visiting family landmarks and researching. Vicki also had a deep love of animals. She took in strays, nursed them back to health, and loved them fiercely. Her house was full of love for both animals and family, which her animals were family as well. She would want to be remembered as strong willed, spirited, sharp witted, loving, and most of all, compassionate. We will miss her laugh, hugs and always telling us how much she loved who we were.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, June 2nd at 2pm at Salser and Dillard. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to Love of Animals Inc. PO Box 6344 Visalia CA 93290.
