Barry Jay Larrabee

Meriden, NH - Barry Jay Larrabee, 75, died Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.

He was born April 19, 1950, in Hardwick, VT one of eleven children of Charles and Lelia (Hodgdon) Larrabee. Barry spent most of his younger years in Williamstown, VT where he graduated from high school. He lived and worked in central Vermont for many years before moving to the Upper Valley in the early 1990s. Shortly after moving to the area, he began working at Dartmouth-Hitchcock in linen services and later environmental services until retiring in 2011. He met and fell in love with Dawn Stebbins while working at the hospital, they were married July 10, 2004. They have made their home in Meriden most of their married lives.

Barry enjoyed working in his yard and was always proud of his lawn. He also loved spending time with family and his chihuahua, Buster.

He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Holly Grout; sisters, Gloria Jean Larrabee, Marion Willey, Carol Laurendeau and Rhonda Lefevre; brothers, Ernest "Sonny" Larrabee and Everett Larrabee.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn Stebbins-Larrabee of Meriden, NH; children, Josh Larrabee (Colleen) of Salem, NH, April Larrabee of Barre, VT, Gabrielle Larrabee (Joe Pratt) of St. Albans, VT, Jodie Lang (Mark) of Haverhill, NH, Thomas Stebbins, II of Lebanon, NH, Katrina Stebbins (Rebecca) of Central Square, NY and Christopher Stebbins (Christina) of Lebanon, NH; fourteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Roger Larrabee (Sylvia), and Robert Larrabee; sisters, Madeline Frattini (Norman) and Paula Hanson as well as several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
