Evelyn Beliveau Obituary
Evelyn Mae (Cousino) Beliveau
Charlestown, NH - Evelyn Mae (Cousino) Beliveau of Charlestown, NH passed away at home with friends and family on October 8th, 2025 having stuffed a lifetime of beautiful smiles into her 52 years. Her final year was a heroic battle with breast cancer. Although cancer stopped her life, it was unable to stop her from living.
Evelyn lived her first years in Charlton, MA. While overfilling her life with joyful activities, she graduated from Thayer High School (Winchester, NH) wearing her yellow National Honor Society sash. Alongside a strong group of friends, Evelyn graduated from Assumption College (Worcester, MA) with a Bachelors in Economics.
Ev channeled the great foundations she received from family, Thayer High, and Assumption into a purpose-driven life. Her first job working for aunt Jeanette teaching kids, feeding kids, and playing with kids at Jeanette's daycare, foreshadowed Ev's purpose. After college, Ev joined a Catholic mission to Mexico to support underprivileged kids. She enlisted a purpose partner when she married her high school sweetheart and settled in Walpole, NH. With the birth of Paul Jr, AmberMae, and Grace, she channeled her energy into service to the children of her community. She answered hundreds of calls signing up the children of Walpole to play youth soccer and spent hundreds of hours setting up fields to contain their energy. She led a Cub Scout den and chaired the advancements for the Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts (Pack and Troop 299). She led two Girl Scout troops with a combined 30 girls. Once her kids were heavily involved in school sports, which she never missed, she transitioned from directly leading kids to helping to set up her community for an active life by joining the Walpole Recreation Committee.
In 2018, Evelyn helped AmberMae start a FIRST robotics team (6895 Mechanical Madness 4H), a team that Ev led until her death, helping high school kids build a new robot each year to complete annual challenges. When Ev learned that Chaos and Kindness was coming to Keene, she decided to become part of the team that did so many great things in the community and worked there during the store's entire history, taking great joy in all the special activities she was able to do in the community. In 2021, Ev moved to Charlestown to fold her mother into her house. In Charlestown, Ev worked to support Charlestown's exceptional beauty by joining the Charlestown Garden Club, the Town Hall Committee, and the Charlestown Historic District and Heritage Commission. In Charlestown, she found the passion that drove the last years of her life, addressing food insecurity. Ev volunteered at the Charlestown Food Shelf, which led to becoming a board member of the Fall Mountain Friendly Meals, further leading to her becoming the Executive Director of this organization. The Fall Mountain Friendly Meals consists of three programs; the Fall Mountain Food Shelf, the Charlestown Food Shelf, and Friendly Meals.
Evelyn is survived by her mother, Sophie Cousino; her husband, Paul Beliveau; her children, Paul Beliveau Jr, AmberMae Beliveau, and Grace Evelyn Beliveau; and her siblings, Frank Sherman, Mike Sherman, Laurie LaClaire, Nancy Rumrill, Jerry Cousineau, and Michelle Griggs.
Ev was from a very large family and has too many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and family in the heart to list; however, she cherished every one of them. Ev was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Cousino and her siblings, Robert Cousineau, Elmer Sherman, Ruth Cousineau, and Douglas Cousineau Jr.
The family looks forward to celebrating Ev's life with her friends at the Walpole Town Hall on October 26 at 1 pm. The celebration will include happy memories from family and friends, all are invited to share. Ev had taken it as her mission to see people fed and her celebration will include food for friends and a food drive for her food shelves (jelly, spices, and toiletries are some good donation options). Ev chose Terramation (human composting) to be converted to soil for her beloved gardens.
After being diagnosed with breast cancer, Ev was very active in reminding friends and family to get their mammograms. In Ev's case, early detection was not enough to allow her team to create a longer-term path for her, but it did give her a fighting chance. In Ev's words, "So, ladies, please, PLEASE, call and schedule your mammogram right now. Please. Just do it. Men, ask the women in your life if they have had a mammogram this year."
Those wishing to honor Ev- beyond sharing your time and memories (and optionally, a shelf stable food shelf item) could support her beloved Fall Mountain Friendly Meals.
To end, a quote from Evelyn's favorite book, "If most of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world." J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit, or There and Back Again.
