Gary Roy Obituary
Royalton, VT - Gary R. Roy passed away August 26, 2025 at his home in Royalton, VT after a period of declining health. Gary was born September 4, 1958 in Berlin, NH, the son of Richard and Jeannette (Leveille) Roy.
He was raised in Berlin and attended school there; graduating in 1976. Gary joined the Navy and served 4 years on the aircraft carrier the USS Saratoga. After leaving the Navy, Gary was married and started a family, a daughter Melissa and a son Kristen.
Gary worked for Massachusetts Electric. Later on Gary moved back to Berlin, NH and studied to become an LNA and later an LPN. He worked at Coos County and also at St. Vincent de Paul. While working full-time, he studied to become an RN. Gary moved to West Lebanon, NH and took an RN job at the VA Medical Center in White River Junction. Gary retired in December 2019 after 20 years.
In his free time, Gary enjoyed the outdoors going hunting and fishing. He liked to garden and scratch lottery tickets. A once in a while trip to a casino and visiting Hampton Beach, NH made him happy. He enjoyed helping out with the four dogs that he and Connie own.
He is survived by his wife Connie; his Mom (Jeannette) of Berlin, NH; a daughter Melissa and her sons Darius and Jakobi; a son Kris and his wife Kasie and their children Hunter, Peyton, and Sawyer; a sister Louise and Robert Dube of Berlin, NH; a brother Ronald and his wife Laura of Berlin, NH; a sister Rachel and her husband Richard Ste. Croix of Augusta, Maine; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his father and his brother, Robert. Gary is also survived by many friends from Berlin, NH and Vermont. Gary kept in touch with 2 Navy friends: David Anderson in Missouri and John Ulekowski in Florida.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the Academy Building in Royalton, VT at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a charity of choice in remembrance of Gary.
