Jesse Alfred Doster

1937 - 2025

Jesse Alfred Doster, 88, of St. Michaels, MD, passed away on March 12, 2025 at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Cambridge. Born on January 29, 1937, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late George and Hester (nee Wilson) Doster. He grew up in Parkton, MD, graduating from Hereford High School. Jesse was married to the late Rose E. Doster, to whom he was married for 60 years, until her passing in January 2019. In 1970, Jesse help form Boy Scout Troop #380 at Wesley United Methodist Church, in Hampstead, MD. At its founding the troop started with 3 boys but grew to 24 Scouts with Jesse serving as Scout Master. Jesse worked for Black and Decker for 50 years in management before the Easton plant closed in 2006. He was the last man to walk out of the building; walking right into retirement, where he enjoyed his woodworking. His love of woodworking lead him to be a part of the project to remake the acorn atop of the Maryland State House. Jesse is survived by his children, Jeffrey A. Doster (Angela), of Manchester, MD, and Roxane Doster Watts (John) of St. Michaels, MD; grandson, Jeff Doster, Jr. (Birttany); granddaughters, Megan and Jessica Watts; and great-grandson, Maxwell Doster. Along with his parents, and wife, Rose, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Calvin Doster, George "Dutch" Doster, Thelma Miller, Hazel Schuman and Hester Viola Stevens. The family received guests and friends on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025, from 10am until 11am at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3239 Carrollton Rd, Hampstead, MD 21074.
