Today, I suddenly thought of Judi and went to her Facebook page — there I learned that she recently passed away. My husband and I were welcomed by Judi when we were newcomers at St Matthew’s. She was a fellow student in Education for Ministry for 4 years. She was an extraordinarily good person, kind, caring willing to help. My husband, Craig, and I send the Shank family our condolences and our prayers.

Judi, your smile and laugh was always a bright spot in my week and a welcome joy at our mid-week online Evening Prayer service. I so enjoyed the time we spent together each week, both in sharing our stories, life, what was on our hearts, and in worship. Your light will continue to shine on our little group. While I never met your family I feel like I know them from your sharing each week. My condolences to Ed, Ed Jr, Jon, Erik, Cody, and the rest of the family. May her memory bring you comfort and sustain you all in your time of grief.

Amazingly enough, I never met Judi in person. However, I must agree with what people who did know her personally have said; she was a true personification of caring, nurturing LOVE. We participated in a Zoom class on Celtic Spirituality, and enjoyed several years of learning, and lively discussion. I appreciated her insights and
observations, and yes, her friendship across the miles.

abandoned, isolated or appearing to be ‘drifting away’. Your bright light is still shining in our hearts and in our lives.
