Justin Johnson Obituary

Justin L. Johnson

Cornish, NH - Justin Louis Johnson died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at the age of 38. Justin was born on September 21, 1985, in Claremont, NH to Neal S. and Roxanne (Gobin) Johnson and a few years later took on the role of big brother to his new sister, Kayla. Justin's smile and laugh lit every room he occupied and as a family they enjoyed camping, swimming, and canoeing. He attended Cornish Elementary School and graduated from Windsor High School. His first job was in the kitchen at Lebanon Genesis where he worked his way up to head cook. His career in restaurants also included time at Skunk Hollow and Windsor Station. He worked for a time at Cornish Automotive and loved to work on cars and custom sound systems with his friends.

At every hard part in their lives, Justin and Kayla stood with and supported one another: when their parents parted ways, when their father died at an early age, and again when Justin began to struggle with the terrible disease of addiction. Throughout it all, Justin maintained his sense of humor, helping to diffuse situations with a joke or witty line, and endeavored to help others whenever possible.

He is survived by his mother, Roxanne Johnson of Cornish; sister, Kayla Gorecki of Windsor; paternal grandmother, Joanne Johnson of Charlestown, NH; niece, Kira Gorecki; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Neal S. Johnson, paternal grandfather Kenneth Johnson, and maternal grandparents Roland McGuire and Arlene Gobin.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 3 until 5 pm with memory sharing at 4:30pm at Knight Funeral Home in Windsor, VT. A private family burial will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Claremont, NH. Memorial donations are appreciated to Turning Point Recovery Center, 7 Morgan St., Springfield, VT 05156 and online condolences may be made at www.knightfuneralhomes.com
