Owen Connor Obituary

Owen Christopher Connor

West Hartford, VT - Owen Christopher Connor, died on July 31st, 2025, at his home in West Hartford, Vermont, having lost a battle with physical pain and depression that started following a catastrophic bicycle accident at age 15.

He was born in Lebanon, NH September 19, 1995, to parents, Christopher Connor and Stacia (Andrews) LaPan, older brother to Wyatt Connor.

Owen grew up in the Upper Valley and graduated from Hartford High School. He later attended the University of Utah, where he followed his love for deep snow and big mountains.

Owen was a talented athlete, where his competitive soul highlighted his incredible adaptability. Before his accident he pitched for the Hartford High School Baseball team and quarterbacked the football team. Immediately following his hospitalization, he began to rebuild his life, learning to bowl left-handed, going on to be the state runner up two consecutive years. He played baseball both for HHS and the American Legion team, hitting and fielding one handed.

Owen was a gifted skier and spent many years proudly teaching children at the Quechee Ski School - a role he loved and took great pride in. He was also a beloved employee at Dan & Whit's General Store in Norwich, where his warmth and humor made him a favorite among coworkers and customers. Most recently, he began working admissions at DHMC, a position he held with pride and compassion, knowing he was helping patients and families.

In recent years, Owen found peace and joy in playing disc golf. It became one of his favorite activities - offering moments of calm and freedom as he navigated the near-constant physical and emotional pain he carried with courage and grace. He also enjoyed cribbage, and playing thousands of games with his father and brother.

Owen is survived by; his father, Christopher Connor; brother, Wyatt; mother, Stacia LaPan, and her husband Bill; uncle Stephen and aunt, Melissa Connor; cousin, Zachary Connor; great-aunt, Pennie Armstrong and his great aunt Jane Ladd. He was predeceased by his aunt, Deb Andrews, and both his maternal and paternal grandparents.

A celebration of Owen's life will be held on Sunday, August 17th, at Clifford Park in West Hartford, Vermont starting at 11 am. All who knew and loved Owen are welcome to gather, share memories, and honor his life. Owen, was a kind soul, with a keen sense of humor, a giving spirit and someone who was passionate about his independence.

Christen and Barry

August 9, 2025

I will always remember the fun we all had, hanging out at the Rocks in Quechee all those summers we shared together.
Your Courageous Spirit that shined, while throwing front Flips off the ledge, with Barry alongside you doing gainers, just showed how much your brave and fun loving spirit was contagious to the friends that were around you. The light of your spirit will always shine on through the friends that were blessed to have known you.
You will be missed forever and I will always cherish the good times we had with you.
Rest in Peace Dear Owen!
