Pamela Curran Obituary

Pamela F. Curran

Grafton, NH - Pamela Curran, of Grafton, NH passed away quietly at home on Monday, September 9, 2024, after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, George Curran; their only child, Emily Curran; and her 4-legged grandson, Max. Pam was born Pamela Frances Leggett, to Robert and Frances Leggett, in Sleepy Hollow, NY in May of 1953.

Having met in college, Pam and George were married in May of 1974. Pam and George spent about 28 years in the Baltimore/Washington DC area where they lived, worked, and raised Emily. Most of Pam's working years were spent teaching. Much of her free time was spent on a variety of needlework hobbies. One of her most important accomplishments was starting and running an after-school homework program for 30 underprivileged middle and high schoolers in Ellicott City, MD for 8 years. Despite the odds, great things can be achieved through belief, hard work and persistence.

Pam and George retired to Grafton, NH in 2004 and have enjoyed living there ever since. They were blessed to have enjoyed many travel experiences, but always breathed a sigh of relief upon returning to their home in rural America.

Please make memorial contributions to: The Haven, c/o Food Shelf, 713 Hartford Ave, White River Junction, VT, 05001.

George and Emilie,
I am so sorry to see that Pam has died. She was also so kind and helpful at St. Peter's and all the work she did at Spring Grove Hospital. She was a truly gifted, talented and compassionate person.

I´ve been blessed to know Pam since we were children together. Pictures in old family albums capture some of the fun we shared as kids-playing in the sandbox, running under the backyard sprinkler, dressing up for Halloween-but can´t begin to show all the qualities that made Pam special. Even as a girl she had a warm, loyal and caring heart and understood everything that truly mattered. Most friendships wax and wane, but because Pam was Pam, our friendship held strong through the decades, across the miles, and through all life´s many changes. More importantly still, because Pam was Pam, she now leaves a "forever legacy" in the many lives she touched while working for the common good and, above all, through her great love for her husband and daughter. George and Emily, my heartfelt condolences to you both in this time of loss. Rest assured that Pam will be remembered, and her memory cherished always.
