Grafton, NH - Philip Jacob Flad suddenly passed away on December 26, 2023, at his home. He was born May 18, 1970, to William and Patricia Flad in Concord, NH. He is the fifth of five boys. He spent his childhood years in Concord and Danbury, NH. Growing up he shared his love for music and storytelling. In later years he moved to Grafton. Where he settled down to raise a family. Whitey was a beloved member of the Grafton Community and will be deeply missed. He was a Grafton Icon and made an impact on everyone he crossed paths with. Whitey had a variety of interests, including spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, playing music, having bonfires, and even couch-spoon playing (Grafton Folks know!). He was known for his wonderful personality and will be remembered as a loving father, papa, friend, and life-long partner.

In terms of his educational background, Whitey attended Newfound High School. Throughout his career, he worked for various companies including Poly Clad, Trumbull Nelson, Kings Forestry Lumber, Watts, and Ledge Works. He was skilled in various trades such as labor and carpentry.

Whitey is survived by his mother Patricia DeGreenia and his two brothers William Flad and Harry Flad. His life-long partner Lynn Brown. His daughter Elizabeth Brown. His son Nicholas Brown and his two grandchildren Riley Brown and Camron Brown all of Grafton, NH. He also had many nieces and nephews.

We last saw Whitey at Grafton's 4th of July celebration at the Cook Shack. He was so happy telling us about all the good things in his life - his children, grandchildren and his job which he loved. He was in a good place.

Going back quite a few years to when Nicholas was born and had just come home from the hospital, I asked the family to pose for a picture, Mom (holding Nicholas), Dad (Whitey), and little Liz'beth standing close to Whitey's left. It was such a beautiful pose that I suggested that it should be placed with the wedding pictures. All though I did not really have a camera with me, Whitey was so proud he just smiled.
