Thomas W. Merrihew

Lebanon, NH — Thomas W. Merrihew passed away on January 29, 2022, after a long period of failing health, surrounded by his family.

He was born November 6, 1940 to Thomas and Ruth (Strong) Merrihew. He attended Lebanon schools and graduated in 1961.

He was a member of the Sheriff's department and worked for Dartmouth College and Dartmouth Medical School where he retired after 47 years. Tom then worked for the Lebanon Police Department part time as a crossing guard.

He was married to Gloria (St. Jean) for 55 years.

He enjoyed playing cards, camping, being around family, playing practical jokes and was a member of the Lebanon Elks.

He is predeceased by his father Thomas Merrihew and his mother Ruth Bushnell. He is survived by his wife Gloria (St. Jean), two sons, Mark and his wife Wendy, Kenneth and his wife Amy, grandchildren Amber Jetty, Morgan, Justin, Emily Merrihew and two step grandsons Ryan and Mason Tucker, great-grandson Killian, brother Raymond and his wife Mel, sister Jean Hanbel and her husband Charles, sister Joyce Parker and her husband Fred, many nieces, nephews, cousins as well as sisters-in-law Betty Merrihew, Barbara St. Jean, Theresa Granger and her husband Rick.

Per wishes of Tom, there will be no services.

The family would like like to thank the staff and Dr. Atkins at DHMC for all the care and treatment given to Tom during his hospitalizations. Also to thank the staff at NH/VT VNA Hospice for their services while at home. Donations can be made to NH/VT VNA Hospice.
