Lebanon, NH — On March 18, 2022, Yin Ching Li passed away peacefully at the age of 67. Born in Canton, China, to Pui Lam Lee and Sue Lam Lee, Yin undertook many challenges in life, all for the love of his family and his community. Yin, known to many as Ching, emigrated to the United States to boldly pursue his passion - sharing his culture through a language we all love, great food.

From San Francisco to New York to Boston and finally to the Upper Valley, Ching brought Cantonese culture and cuisine to all through his passion projects - his restaurants, which included the Kowloon Restaurant in Stowe, VT and the China Jade in Randolph, VT. Ching met his wife of 33 years, Heidi Li (Stinson), in the Upper Valley where they lived and raised their family.

Learning English along the way, Ching emboldened his daughters to explore the world near and far, embrace lifelong learning, and stand on their own two feet while pursuing their passions through hard work. Ching loved life, laughter, good wine and worked with principled generosity for all those that knew him, especially his family.

Ching is survived by his wife, Heidi Li, his three daughters, Brittany Li, Brianna Li, Bethany Li, his two sisters Sindy Li and Wu Li, and a large extended family both here and abroad. All are a living link to a man that left us too soon. He will be missed, loved, and remembered by all those lucky enough to have met him.

For family and friends, a funeral will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 2pm at Pine Knoll Cemetery in Hanover, NH. Masking protocols will be observed. In place of flowers, a donation may be made to World Central Kitchen, https://wck.org, to continue Ching's passion for sharing food.
