Anderson Frank Obituary

Born March 10, 1929 in Flint Michigan, son of Kenneth B Anderson and Florence Hauglie Anderson, passed peacefully on January 12, 2022 in Chesterfield Michigan. Frank was the oldest of seven children. He graduated from Pontiac High School in 1946. He proudly served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer, during the occupation of Japan after World War II. On December 16, 1951, he married Lois Hunter in Idaho and had three children. While living in Idaho he worked for Idaho Power before moving to Alaska where he worked for the Bureau of Public Roads including a project north of the Arctic Circle on the Distant Early Warning D.E.W. line. Frank returned to his home state of Michigan in 1958 and began working for Anderson & Ruzzin through 1972 as a laborer and then worked at Kensington Construction and Carlo Construction Co. building Interstate Highway I-696. He met and married the love of his life, Joanne Brown on October 8, 1971. Frank enjoyed attending church with Joanne, fishing, hunting, and gardening. One of his great joys was playing Santa Claus to grandkids, friends, and strangers. He was an animal lover and an active member of the VFW. He retired at seventy years of age. In retirement he enjoyed taking trips with Joanne and spending time with family. He was skilled in many areas including creating stained glass pieces, cherished by his family. His sense of humor and love of his grandchildren and great-grand children will be deeply missed. Although he presented a tough exterior, Frank was a very loving man who would often be brought to tears every time he told his family he loved them. Frank is predeceased in death by Joanne, step-son Marty Brown, his parents Kenneth and Florence, and siblings Linda and James. Frank is survived by his siblings Eric (Vicky), Carolyn (Troy-deceased), Richard (Diane), and Charlie (Michelle), Frank's three children, Karen, Kenneth, Kristine "Kris" (Gary), step-son Dale (Joan), seven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
