Cameron Friend Obituary

Born to Cameron and Eva Friend on May 22, 1926 in Lindrith N.M.; Cameron passed away April 15, 2005. Cameron spent most his life in Barstow. In 1963 he and his wife Lollie bought the business in Ludlow where they spent the next 12 years building new businesses, and where Cameron doused for water and brought in several good wells. Up until then the water had been brought in by the railroad. In 1975 they retired to the mountains east of Durango, Colo., where the spent the next 25 years ranching and raising longhorn cattle. After the winters in Colorado, the desert beckoned them back where they spent their time between Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and their home in the Hualapai Mountains. Cameron leaves behind his beloved wife of 45 years, Lollie; sons, Terry and his wife Dennie, and Mike and his wife Denise; daughters, Janet, Penny, and Lynda and her husband Roger; brothers, Luther Friend of Barstow and Bud Honey of Kingman, Ariz.; sister Jean Cassidy; nine grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services will be held today, April 19, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, 1701 Sycamore Ave.; Kingman, Ariz.

My family worked for Cam and Lollie at the coffee shop and motel in the early 70s. They were such awesome bosses to us kids and my mom. Will never forget both of you. Thank you for the opportunity to start our lives.
