Darryl Wiley Obituary

Darryl Lamont Wiley, 38, passed away peacefully at the Johns Hopkins Medical Center Aug. 8, 2000, following a courageous battle with cancer. Son of Willie and the late Deborah Wiley, Darryl was born in California. While living in Victorville, Darryl attended Hook Junior High School and Victor Valley High School, where he was on the wrestling team. Following his graduation from the Hawaii Preparatory Academy, Darryl joined the U.S. Air Force and pursued an electrical engineering degree. After being honorably discharged, Darryl was hired by ABF, Inc. of Alexandria, Va., where he quickly became known as a technical guru. The Department of Defense and IBM were among his many clients. Darryl's devotion, loyalty and brilliance never wavered, even during his battle with cancer. Darryl was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Tonya; sons Darryl Jr. and Jordan; father and stepmother Willie and Gwendolyn Wiley of Ontario; sister Sharidan Phillips of Los Angeles; brother Timothy Wiley of Los Angeles, paternal grandmother and stepgrandfather Attie and A.C. Williams of Memphis; stepmother Carol Wiley of Victorville and a host of aunts and uncles. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at From the Heart Church Ministries in Temple Hills, Md. Burial will be Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery in Los Angeles.
