JACK WALTER KOENIG

JACK WALTER "WALLY" KOENIG 4/10/1927 - 4/22/2013 Fell asleep in death Monday April 22, in Fort Wayne, IN. He was 86 on his birthday April 10. He was a long time resident of Hesperia, CA. He was known in Hesperia as 'THE Garbage Man', as he owned and operated the High Desert's Original - KV (Koenig/Vicent) Disposal and then Hesperia Disposal from 1956-1970. To every chilld he was, 'The Candy/Bubble Gum Man', Wally loved throwing candy & gum to the kids on his route. He was preceded in death by his Darling wife Marion, together making the business the success it was. In 1970, he sold his business to semi retire so that he could enjoy his ministry and serve his creator Jehovah. He became a minister and member of the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1958. He is survived by his 6 children, Steven R Koenig wife Janet, Robin L Collier husband Jeff, Mark A Koenig wife Debbie, Michael J Koenig wife Georgeanna, Wendy (Koenig) Ponce and youngest Koenig family member Edwin F Dvorak, Wally's brother Robert G Koenig of Bellevue, Washington. Along with 16 grand children, 23 great grand children plus 2 more greats on the way. He was loved by all and will be missed. Services will be held on Saturday June 8th at 12:30pm at Lime Street Park in Hesperia. A potluck lunch will be served.
