John Dolph Obituary

John Dolph Jr.
Former Barstow resident John Dolph Jr., died June 19, 2009 in San Francisco. He was 51.
John Jr. was born in Barstow, the third of five children born, to John and Gwen Dolph. The family moved to Ridgecrest in 1973. John Jr. attended Burroughs High School and served in the US Army and Air Force. Later, he also worked as a paramedic and airplane mechanic. He was recently employed as a support technician for Panasonic. 
 John Jr.'s hobbies included playing guitar, computers, motorcycles, and his beloved birds. He enjoyed attending metal concerts with his girlfriend, especially by Iron Maiden and Motorhead.
John Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Wendy Dolph.
Survivors include his son, John Dolph III of Texas; daughters, Katie Dolph of Portland, Ore., and Sarah Dolph of Reno, Nev.; sisters, Jennifer Rausch of San Clemente, Heather KinKennon of Rosamond, and Ellen Childress of Cave Junction, Ore.; aunt, Margie Dillingham of Barstow; and uncle Gordon Gallagher of North Carolina. A host of friends and coworkers, including girlfriend Julie Zberg of San Francisco, also mourn his death.
A memorial gathering was held at Zeitgeist in San Francisco. Services will be held Aug. 14, 2009 10:15 a.m. at Riverside National Cemetery.
