Lorraine Delores "Raineybird" Taylor-Dodd

Lorraine Taylor-Dodd Obituary

Lorraine Delores Taylor-Dodd, affectionately called "Raineybird" by her family, went to be with our Lord on June 8, 2007, after a long liver illness. She was a resident of Barstow for several years and loved being a part of this community. Lorrie is survived by her loving daughter, Shannon; grandsons, Garrett and Landon and her sweet son, Will. She has two lovely caring sisters, Virginia and Chris; many extended family members and an enormous amount of friends.Throughout Lorrie's life she accomplished many goals. Lorrie became a first grade teacher at Cameron Elementary School, where she taught for several years. She loved teaching children and often said that teaching made her feel sincerely blessed. For many years Lorrie was a member of the VFW Post # 2143 in Barstow, where she served as their Auxiliary President and Treasurer. She also served as a Past District 3 President in 2003-2004. Lorrie openly loved people and often volunteered her time to seniors, students, friends and family. Lorrie touched all our lives in a very special way and we miss her tremendously. Lorrie loved life and was a remarkable lady. Please join us in celebrating and honoring her loving memory on Saturday, July 28, 2007. A celebration in honor of Lorrie's life will be held at the VFW Post #2143 @ 2 p.m. at 25190 W. Main St. For information, contact Babs at 256-2992 after 10 a.m.
