Patricia Goodspeed Obituary

Patricia Ann Davey Goodspeed
1925-2020
Patricia Ann Davey Goodspeed, (Patty Ann), passed away peacefully at Chantilly Lace Manor in Victorville on December 12, 2020 of natural causes from Dementia. Patricia was born in Warren Arizona on August 16, 1925 to George Keith Davey and Anna Elsie (Chown) Davey. She is survived by her sons Raymond Everett ( Buck ) Goodspeed (Paula), Thomas Stephen Goodspeed (Laura), daughters Ann Elizabeth Pachman (Tom), and Margaret Louise Goodspeed. Grandchildren, Trevor Ray Goodspeed, Alison Marie Jackson, (Dion), Julia Campbell Whalen (Brett), and Gemma Goodspeed Allen. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Keith and Anna Elsie Davey, husband Raymond Ellis Goodspeed, Brother George Reynolds Davey, and son John Davey Goodspeed. Pat graduated from Bisbee High School AZ in 1943 and went on to be a founding member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority at the University of Arizona, graduating with a degree in Lab Science/Chemistry. After college Pat began working for the Morenci Arizona Hospital where she met Raymond Ellis Goodspeed whom she wed in 1952. From there, Pat and Raymond started a family that took them on a life long journey from Arizona into California with four children in tow with one to come later, Margaret, making five. Mother of five, the early years were a challenge but progressively rewarding after her ultimatum to husband Raymond (Big R): I'm not raising a family in this godforsaken desert, (Salome AZ). Shortly after, Raymond, moved the family to Huntington Beach Ca. in 1960, than on to Leucadia CA. in 1971, and then to the family's final destination, Apple Valley Ca. in 1975. Pat was an inspiration to all, not only her family but all whom she knew and who associated with her. Pats quick wit and humor and the family memories of her April fool's day pranks will be cherished forever. Pat loved to play tennis and golf early in life and well into her later days. In 1941 as a high school sophomore at Bisbee High School AZ Pat became the youngest woman's Champion of the Bisbee Naco Golf Club Tournament at the age of 15, thus beginning a lifelong love of the game. Some accomplishment on the local links include being a six times woman's golf champion at Jess Ranch golf course and then moving into the senior division, winning another four championships for a total of 10 years of championship play. During this span, she also aced 4 holes in one. Patricia was a woman of passion and faith, always seeking, never judging, and wise. If inspired, please submit a donation in her name to HEIFER International, or the Billy Jean King Foundation. Giving forgiving and empowerment was Patricia.

My deepest sympathy to the Goodspeed family for their loss. I met Pat 20 years ago when I started playing golf at Jess Ranch. We formed a little group and started hanging out and going on golf trips. We went to Vegas, Mesquite, Palm Springs and many other day trips. We all looked up to Pat and she was the best golfer of all of us. We always played for $1.00 and winning Pat’s dollar was the best! When we would get to the 10th hole, she would always say “Let the games begin”! I will always love and miss you, my dear Pat.
