Alvin Kaddatz Obituary

Alvin A. "Kowboy" Kaddatz, 91, of Hillsboro, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at Providence Health Care Center in Waco. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Pastor John Vieths officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Kowboy was born Oct. 9, 1916, near Malone, Texas, the son of Karl Charlie and Annie (Radke) Kaddatz. Faith and family were first in his life. On Jan. 2, 1954, he married Nancy Mann in Malone. He was an avid farmer, rancher and farm equipment auction enthusiast. Kowboy loved his country very much. During WWII, he served his country in the United States Army. For many years, he was a member of the Hill County Roundup Club. Two of the things he enjoyed most was drinking coffee and talking to his friends at his various stops in Hillsboro. He loved to eat, but especially loved eating at home in Granny's kitchen. His greatest accomplishment in life was that he lead his family to faith in Jesus Christ. He was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Lillian Hodde and Ruby Lentz; one brother, Weldon "Sonny" Kaddatz; and a son-in-law, Ronnie Robertson. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Kaddatz of Hillsboro; children, Alvin Kaddatz and wife, Brenda, of Hillsboro, Alicia Garland of Waco, Darlene Robertson of Whitney, Delynda Cruz and husband, Lee, of Houston, and Christie Kaddatz of Hillsboro; brother, Ervin Kaddatz and wife, Mary, of West; sister-in-law, Frances Kaddatz of Hillsboro; nine grandchildren, Travis and David Kaddatz both of Mertens, Robert Robertson of Arlington, Ashley Kaddatz of Stephenville, Jennifer Robertson of Whitney, Bryan Robertson of Merkel, Gay Lynn Ford of Winnsboro, and Bubba Garland and Amanda Hatten both of Waco; and 11 great-grandchildren, including a close great-grandson, Carson Kaddatz of Mertens. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, Texas, or charity of one's choice. Condolences may be made at www.marshallandmarshallfd.com.
