Billie McFarland Obituary

Billie McFarland

Aug. 20, 1928 - April 3. 2021

Billie Faye Langford's time on Earth ended at a Waco hospital before dawn on Saturday, April 3, 2021, with family members at her side.

Billie was born in Waco, Texas, on August 20, 1928, to parents Grady Henry Langford and Dulcie Petty Langford. The third of three children. She lived an incredibly happy childhood graduating from Waco High School in 1946.

As a teenager she started working in her parent's business, Langford's Cleaners and Hatters. On November 11, 1950, she married Wilford Herman "Mac" McFarland. They together assumed ownership of the business. They were blessed with three children. Sandra, Larry and Steven.

Billie loved to travel, work in the yard, gardening and canning what she had grown. She and Mack traveled far and wide. In their travel trailer they visited almost all 50 states from Alaska to California, Michigan to Louisiana, Maine to Florida, with many stops in-between. She also acquired a Ham Radio license. Billie had her own motorcycle which she learned to ride.

After almost 45 years of marriage Mack passed away in 1995. Billie relied on her three children to see her through this hardship.

Years went by and she found a new love in her life. She met and married Bobby Glenn Hayes in 2008.

Together they shared the urge to travel and went on many journeys. Billie was an avid supporter of the Baylor Lady Bears Basketball team.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Dulcie Langford; her brothers, Doyle and Grady Langford Jr.; husband, Mack McFarland; and daughter, Sandy McQueen.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Hayes; sons, Larry McFarland and partner, Gail Davies, of Whitney, Steve McFarland and wife, Margaret, of Robinson; grandchildren, Michelle Fletcher and husband, Kenneth, of Whitney, Marty Greger and wife, Dawn, of Moyers Oklahoma, and Kevin McFarland of Round Rock; plus seven great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Billie's sons wish to add, she taught us many things. But most importantly to always do the right thing and that family is what matters most. We miss you mother. Tell our Dad we miss him too.

I am so sorry for your loss. I just posted a message after reading Sandra´s obituary. I now find that Sandra´s mother has just recently passed away. They were both great ladies. It is my great loss that I am too late to reconnect! My deepest sympathies for the family,
