June 27, 1944 - July 3, 2023

On July 3, 2023, Billy Dwight Kevil peacefully went home to the Lord. Billy was born on June 27, 1944, to Pat and Glen Kevil in Rosebud, Texas.

In 2021, after 17 years, Billy sold Paladin Security and retired. In retirement, he enjoyed traveling and photography. He took several trips around the country visiting historical sites. Billy would spend a lot of his time taking pictures of birds, squirrels, deer, and sunsets. Billy enjoyed spending time with and spoiling his three grandkids. Billy was preceded in death by his mother, Pat Cepak; father, Glen Kevil; brother, Stanley Kevil; brother, Kyle Kevil; and sister, Sharon Allison.

Billy, it was a great honor to know you and to call you a great friend and a great protector, you cared about the safety of the residents of West, I will always remember you working security at the Westfest, riding around in the golf cart, awesome job and career, couldn't have asked for a better police officer. Billy, you will be missed terribly. Rest in peace!

My condolences to the Kevil family. I knew Kevil from Waco PD. He and my sister, Mary Ann Higgins were really good friends. I think it was him that would go to my dad's place for dove hunting. He was a really nice man.

I remember Billy from back in the 70's when I was working for local ambulance services in Waco. He was one of the officers you were always glad to see when things started getting a little out of hand. He and I both remember June 12th of 1976 very well. Billy, rest easy my friend.
