Bobby Wayne Howell

Mr. Bobby Wayne Howell, 76, a longtime resident of Mount Calm, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009, at his daughter's home in Dew. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, at Wade Funeral Chapel, in Hubbard with the Rev. Dean Coultas officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Calm Old Town Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral home. Mr. Howell was born Feb. 10, 1933, in Mount Calm to Robert Daniel Howell Sr. and Emma Alberta (Beavers) Howell. He lived most all of his life in Mount Calm except, for the time he served in the Air Force. Mr. Howell married his next door neighbor, Ouida Jo Cry, and they would have celebrated 56 years of marriage on Saturday. He was a retired rancher who loved his animals and watching Western movies. Mr. Howell was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mount Calm. He was preceded in death by his parents; and five siblings, Weldon Howell, R.D. Howell Jr, Virginia Howell Shuford and infant twins. Survivors include his wife, Ouida Jo (Tommie) Howell, of Mount Calm; three children, Terry Howell and wife, Jeanette of Point Enterprise, Debbie Burleson and husband, John T. of Dew and Michael Howell and wife, Mary, of Mount Calm; grandchildren, Stephen Howell, Stephanie Webb and husband, Keith, Jason Howell and wife, Patricia, Christina Howell and Andy, Matthew Howell and wife, Janet, Brent Howell and wife, Brenna, Jennifer Phillips and husband, Kent, John Michael Burleson and wife, Haley and Lisa and David Abshire; 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
