Chase Bell Memoriam

Boogs, My hands tremble as I write this, just as all the years before. Some may wonder why after all these years, it is still so terribly hard for me to be without you. I know that you are with God himself and we will be together again one day. My Faith has not wavered. God is the only reason I have made it through. This year Cutter is in 6th grade, the grade you were when you passed. This week falls exactly as it did the week when you left us. It replays in my mind frame by frame. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday you went into the hospital, on Thursday, we were at Scott & White, Friday morning I got up early to find you a Furbie that looked like the Gremlin character and Kaitlyn the Ginger Spice doll. Friday night, you asked me, "Mom? Do you think I'm going to be like the people on TV?" and I asked what you meant and you said, "A grown-up." That question started a long conversation and we spoke words about life, our family, God, Jesus, and Heaven. I never knew how often I would revisit that conversation for years to come, never knew how important that conversation would become only hours later the very next morning. I remember reassuring you and I kissed you, curled up on the end of your bed and we went to sleep. I want to tell you, if I had known that that would have been the last time we would have been able to talk, I would have stayed up all night long and talked, and never have gone to sleep. That is what hurts the most. Kaitlyn is a senior this year. She visits the cemetery often, and I am sure you know what she is feeling and hear her heart's conversation. She is an exact copy of your Dad. Time changes everything except our love remains the same. Mom, Dad, Kaitlyn and Cutter February 3, 1986 - November 28, 1998 Sign the Guest Book at www.wacotrib.com

Dear Chase,
How I wish we had lived close to you longer. We have many memories of times together in Jourdanton and Devine, and our trips to Waco. We smile when we think of some of your best moments: a Star Wars birthday made possible by two great guys from Baylor who were willing to dress like Darth Vader, "my song, my song", your apology letter to your teacher:"I'm sorry life isn't what you thought it would be", and your naming Uncle Sam "Yosemite Sam". Your Mom is awesome. Although it makes her sad, she remembers you with this special notice in the paper every year, and reminds us all to let our children know how much they are loved. Much love, Aunt Nandra, Uncle Yosemite Sam, and Cousin Laney

Chase knows your heart's conversations too and he is smiling down on you, proud for the devotion you show him. Your right, time changes everything except our love for others. That remains steady and true. You are a great example of this.
