Dorris Seith Obituary

Seith, Dorris

Sep 21, 1930 - Jul 24, 2024

Dorris I. Book Seith, 93, of Hewitt, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2024 at Brookdale Lakeshore. A visitation will be 4-6 PM, Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel 8220 Woodway Dr.

Please come as you are and share your memories of Dorris.

Dorris was born September 21, 1930 in Bay City, TX to Luther and Inez Book. Dorris grew up in Waco and attended Waco schools. Shortly after high school she met the love of her life, Raymond F. Seith, and they were married on August 8, 1952. Raymond was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army and retired after 20 years of service. Their adventures in military life took them to many places all over the world, including extended stays in Germany and Alaska before retiring in Ft. Benning, Georgia and eventually moving back to Waco in 1965. Dorris worked for Sears Roebuck for over 20 years as a sales associate and truly enjoyed her time socializing with her many customers and fellow employees. Her one true love was her family. She faithfully attended any event that any of them were involved in, from family reunions to sporting events and you could always see her coming by spotting the Jack In The Box antenna ball! Dorris was devoted caretaker for her husband and brother, Johnny Book, in their last few years. Selflessly and lovingly as only she could.

Dorris was preceded in death by her grandmother Viola Ashcraft, father Luther Book, mother Inez Book, husband Raymond Seith, brother Johnny Book and son Michael Seith.

She is survived by her son Gary Seith and wife Rene, grand daughter Missy Rebrovich and husband Jeff, grandson Ryan Seith and wife Marjorie, great grand daughter Shyanne Tolbert and husband Connor, Great grand daughter Tatum Seith, great grand son Tyler Seith and great great grandson Bodie Tolbert.

The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff of Brookdale Lakeshore for their compassionate care, First United Methodist Church of Hewitt for their kindness and support and the family at Daylight Donuts in Hewitt for their friendship.
