Edith L. Dockery

Feb. 9, 1946 - Feb. 2, 2021

Edith Laverne Dockery, 74, of Waco, Texas, passed away on February 2, 2021, at her home in the company of her loving husband and son. She had battled a long courageous period of illness. Services will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, at OakCrest Funeral Home with Rev. Kip Osborne officiating and burial will follow immediately at Oakwood Cemetery, Waco, Texas.

Edith was born on February 9, 1946, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Her parents were Walter Seago and Lillian Pearl Douglas Seago. She was a loving, caring mother and devoted, affectionate wife. She was also a compassionate, concerned daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and cousin.

On November 26, 1976, she became the wife of Mitchell Dockery. A little more than two years later, she became the mother of her son, Sean Dockery.

Edith worked a number of years for Haggar Slack Factory in Corsicana, Texas, where she earned high approval and perfect attendance awards.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Walter Seago, Howard Seago, and Bob Seago; one sister, Ann McClure; a brother-in-law; several sisters-in-law; and other relatives who were dearly loved.

Edith is survived by her husband, Mitchell Dockery; son, Sean Dockery; sister, Shirley Pinson; brother-in-law, Thomas Dockery and wife, Tricia Dockery; sisters-in-law, Charlene Seago and Etoye Seago; and her nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Michael Dockery, Danny Ward, Douglas Turner, Allan Hernandez, Ricky Berrier, and Raymond Hill.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Charles Stern and Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Hospital, Texas Home Health Care, including Hospice and Visiting Angels.
