Esther Ellen Tlustos, age 101, of West, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021 in West. Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday December 8, 2021, at the West Brethren Church. Burial will follow at West Brethren Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home.

Esther was born September 29, 1920 near Abbott, the daughter of Joe and Mollie (Popp) Barton. She attended schools in Abbott and was a graduate of Abbott High School. On December 28, 1941 she was united in marriage to B.F. "Bob" Tlustos in West. Bob preceded her in death on June 9, 1984. Esther was the oldest of four children. She grew up on the family farm and tended the chickens, turkeys, and performed other chores as needed. Esther worked for many years in a family grocery store named Oak Lake Store which was located about 10 miles east of Waco. She also worked at Tony and Linda's Pavelka Tradinghouse Bait House. Esther was a lifelong and faithful member of West Brethren Church, where she was active with the Christian Sisters. Esther enjoyed camping, fishing, playing "42", and being with family and friends. She was also a member of the RVOS Lodge and the PTA when her sons were in school.

Esther is also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Raymond and Joe John Barton Jr.; and a sister, Josephine Foit Harper.

Survivors include her sons, Bobby Tlustos and wife, Mary Lou of Elm Mott and Wayne Tlustos and wife, Sally of Corsicana; her grandchildren, Sonny Tlustos and wife, Kay, Missie Pustejovsky and husband, Doug, Lacey Ogburn and husband, Russell, and Lindsey Boeller and husband, Joey; her great grandchildren, Keaton, Paxton, Grayson, Addison, Lucille, Lillian, Joseph, Tyler and Elaina; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Brethren Church.
