Eugene Dudek Obituary

Eugene McCarthy Dudek Sr., 86, a native of Waco and a resident of Houma, La., since 1939, entered into eternal rest on Sept. 16, 2006. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006 at 1 p.m. at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral, 500 Goode St., Houma, La. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Houma, La. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Sept. 19, at the church from 11 a.m. until funeral time. Eugene was an usher at St. Francis de Sales Church, an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus and a veteran of World War II, serving in the Air Force. He was the true patriarch of the family, a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Dudek and Josephine Snider Dudek; one son, Paul Victor Dudek; one sister, Rosalie Dudek; and two brothers, Fred B. Dudek and Raymond Dudek. Eugene is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Julia Kappel Dudek; children, Eugene Dudek Jr. and wife, Caroline of Houma, La., Linda Nicholas and husband, Hubert of Gonzales, La., Nancy Robicheaux and husband, Aaron of Houma, La., Marcie Lea Melancon and husband, Steve of New Iberia, La., John Charles Dudek and wife, Tina of Houma, La.; daughter-in-law, Sandra Usey Dudek of Houma, La.; 17 grandchildren, Danna Caillouet, Eugene Dudek III, Charles Dudek, James Dudek, Tracey Dudek, Katherine Nicholas, Theresa Nicholas, Rick Wiley, Julie W. Steigner, Carey Wiley, Mark Melancon, Rebecca M. Cavagnaro, Melanie Melancon, Matthew Melancon, Mike Dudek and Kayla Dudek; and 13 great-grandchildren. Chauvin Funeral Home, Houma, La.
